Web of Centralities

The meaning of outskirts can be defined as:

“region far from the urban center, with low or none structure and urban services, where lives the low income population”

Another aim of the Macrozoning is to break with this concept of outskirts by strengthening a web of centralities and going forward from a MONOCENTERED – with only one great centrality – to a POLYCENTERED structure – with many centralities sprawled over the territory. Centrality is herein comprehended as an accessible urban area with a diversified concentration of jobs, retail, public and private services, housing and leisure and culture equipment.
